How to use your credits

1. Buying

Pick a pack on the credits page. Checkout is hosted by Stripe; we never see your card, and Stripe sends the receipt.

2. Your key appears once

After payment you land on a page showing your key. Save it then. The same browser link works for 7 days, so bookmark that page if you want to re-open it — a Stripe receipt will not take you back to it. After 7 days the key is deleted from our side and cannot be recovered.

We never email it. The droplet cannot send email at all.

3. Calling the tools

Point an MCP client at https://product.kcalbinmcp.uk/mcp and send:

Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY

Your key unlocks deathcare_market, deathcare_projection and deathcare_growth_ranking. Without a key, deathcare_market returns a free masked preview — you can see the shape of the data before buying. The other two, deathcare_projection and deathcare_growth_ranking, are paid only: without a key they return a short note saying forward projections need credits, and no rows.

4. What a credit is spent on

One credit per paid result. Listing the tools, the free masked preview from deathcare_market, and a call rejected before the query runs all spend nothing. Honest edge case: if your client disconnects after the result is built, that credit is still spent.

5. Errors, and what they mean

• no_credits — the pack is used up. Buy another; the old key still works for balance checks.
• unknown_key — the key was not recognised. Check it was sent exactly as issued.
• revoked — contact us.
• payment_not_confirmed — this one is our fault, not yours. It comes with a reference; email it to us and no credit was spent.
• invalid_state — the state name was not recognised. Use a two-letter code or the full state name; the error lists every accepted form.

6. Limits worth knowing

• Bulk extract is not included — it carries redistribution rights and is a separate contract.
• County level only: no sub-county, ZIP or tract detail, and no age breakdown.
• Projections are a model. The further out you read, the less certain it is.
• Credits do not expire and nothing renews.
